Marble mainly exported from”Italy, India, China and Spain which account for bulk of the marble produced in the world. The total production of marble today exceeds over 60 million tons. Rajasthan in India has abundant marble reserves (estimated 1100 million tons) which accounts for 91 per cent of the total national reserves. But in the international market India is ranked fourth in exports with Italy and China leading the way.

The thumb rule for marble as in the case of granite countertops is that, softer the marble material higher the cost and harder the variety, cheaper it is.
