A wide deck will not save you any time if you’ll need to go back with a push mower between all your trees. Riding mowers can come with engines in the front or in the back. The options available are a gear lever and clutch brake combination, foot pedal controls, and the more sophisticated hydrostatic drive. Hydrostatic drive models will give you a smoother ride but tend to be much more expensive. Choose whether you’ll be bagging, mulching or tossing the clippings the riding mower produces. Test to work out if you can simply switch between modes and if you need to buy further accessories. Itis a good idea to test many riding lawn mowers before you purchase one. Some things to be aware of are how simply it steers and brakes, the degree of the turning radius, whether you are comfortable, and the ease of which you can adjust the cutting height.
